The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, has paid for the repatriation of the body of late Nollywood actress, Moji Olaiya, the committee for her burial said.
The Publicity Secretary for the Moji Olaiya Burial Committee, Mr Yomi Fabiyi, said this in an Instagram post on Monday.
According to him, Senator Tinubu, who is the National Grand Patron of the Theater Arts and Motion Picture Producer’s Association of Nigeria, decided to foot the bill when members of the burial committee informed him of the decision to bring the body of the late actress home for burial.
“Today, Monday 22nd May, 2017, the Committee members, Adunola (Eldest daughter of Late Moji Olaiya) and two elder brothers of Late Moji Olaiya met with Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and he expressed his sympathy directly and gave adequate support that will cover the entire air-freight,” Mr Fabiyi said.
“On behalf of the family, colleagues and friends we say a big thank you to the National Leader for his fatherly and timely intervention.”
The actress died at the age of 42 in Canada on Thursday last week, two months after she gave birth to her second child.
The committee for her burial, which has Faithia Balogun as Chairperson and Foluke Daramola as Secretary, said details about her funeral would be released in due course.tweet
