The National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has embarked on an indefinite strike.
The Association took the decision following their National Executive Council meeting which lasted from 7 pm yesterday until the early hours of this morning.
The doctors say they will sustain the industrial action until all their demands are met by Government.
NARD President, Onyebueze John, said, the body has resolved to reject the promissory offer from Government, and proceed on total and indefinite strike action until all items in her demand list for strike action are resolved by Government.”
You will recall that the Minister of Labour had said on Saturday after a meeting with the doctors that the planned strike had been suspended.
The doctors later refuted the statement, saying though they met with the government, but were yet to take a decision.
The strike action wioll no doubt have adverse effect in the country’s healthcare sector.
