The All Progressives Congress (APC) lawmakers in Ekiti State Assembly have raised the alarm over alleged plot by members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), to unleash terror on them today.
Mr. Wole Olujobi, Special Adviser on Media to the Ekiti State Speaker, Dr. Adewale Omirin, made the allegation on behalf of the lawmakers yesterday, saying: “This is bringing to the attention of all Nigerians the clandestine plan by members of the PDP in Ekiti State to unleash terror on the members of Ekiti State House of Assembly tomorrow (today).”
Olujobi said the lawmakers uncovered the planned attack through a message mistakenly sent to a former member of the PDP who had defected to APC, in which the ruling party urged its members to mobilize all ward members for the attack.
According to Olujobi, the said message read: “Please mobilise all PDP ward members to be at Fajuyi Park by 9am tomorrow. APC Assembly members needed to be warned. Come with your placards.”
Urging Governor Fayose to intervene in the matter by calling members of his party to order, Olujibi added: “This development followed similar plan to attack members of APC in the Assembly few days ago, which was also foiled when the plan leaked.
“We urge the governor to call members of his party to order and let Ekiti people continue to live in peace, which they have been enjoying for four years under the former administration,” he said.tweet Follow @@metro1
