An Upper Area Court Wuse, sitting at Gudu District in Abuja, under Justice Umar Kagarko has issued a notice to the Nigeria Police Force to produce Rev Paul Emeka in court on March 30, 2016, pursuant to the subsisting order of the court.
In a letter signed by Ifeanyichuwku Obasi-Nweze, co-counsel representing the compliant in a case No. CR/1081/15, a Direct Criminal Compliant by Incorporated Trustees of the Assemblies of God Nigeria against Rev. Paul Emeka, the court on January 19, 2016 gave an order that the Police should bring the Investigation Report and the suspect in respect of the case in court.
In the letter which was made available to journalists, the Incorporated Trustees of the Assemblies of God Nigeria, which is the Compliant had instituted a direct criminal complaint case of forgery and use of false documents against Rev. Paul Emeka, the Defendant.
The Defendant, Rev. Paul Emeka was one of the trustees of the Church, as at 2012 when the said trusteeship was duly reconstituted to include him because of the qualification he presented, but he was later removed on April 30, 2015.
Rev. Emeka allegedly presented himself to the Complaint as a Professor from University of Derby, Derbyshire in England and based on the information he presented to the church, he was made one of the Trustees of the Church.
Sometime in January 2015, the Church (Compliant) upon investigation, found out that Rev. Paul Emeka (Defendant), allegedly forged the professional certificate he presented to the Church, because University of Derby, Derbyshire in England, where he claimed to have received his professorship title, sent a disclaimer letter of not having a record of the name Paul Emeka in the University’s Conferment Committee archives and that they do not hold of him receiving a title of Professor.
