Mexican international footballer, Alan Pulido, has been freed hours after he was kidnapped, officials say.
The striker plays for Greek club, Olympiakos and has made several appearances for Mexico’s national team.
Officials disclosed that the rescue operation was carried out on Sunday night.
They added that Pulido was kidnapped on Saturday night in Ciudad Victoria, in Tamaulipas state in Mexico.
The 25-year-old appeared outside a police office in the early hours of Monday with a bandaged hand and told reporters he was “very well”.
